Now, he's one step closer to being "Just Like Daddy". Monday night I got confirmation that we had beat the crowds, and we were getting a cool trike off of Craigslist. I quickly informed Malachi that first thing in the morning, we were going to go pick up his bicycle. He was very excited. I showed him the picture on the website of HIS bike, and he started giggling. Then he pointed the the screen and said very clearly, "Mommy -- take it out!". I thought perhaps this is one of those developmental things so I explained "we can't take it out, it's just a picture". Then he pointed to the printer and said again, "Mommy -- take it out!". Then I got what he was saying. So, I printed out the pictures and he gleefully took it into his hands and held it close to his chest. His bicycle!
He insisted on taking the pictures to bed with him. He had a hard time falling asleep, I think he laid in bed for 1.5 hours before slumber finally overtook him.
But, he kept hanging onto that picture!

Finally morning came and after a quick jaunt in the car we had the bike. Here's a picture Malachi on his bike -- so pleased with himself! It was kinda yucky outside, and Mommy was tired, so we just rode it around the house a little. As you can see from the picture, it also has a rocking function. He was pretty pleased!!
Toddler's are sometimes chaotic, but I love all the "first" moments. They're never too shy to share their excitement about something. He's still working on learning how to pedal, but it seems like before long, we'll be teaching him how to drive a stick-shift. Savoring these days,
Sarah
